After having the  Excellent Dudes reunion show back in 2009 I decided to keep the full band set-up and began to invite various musicians whom I have played with over the years to make up the core band for that night, which would be 3 or 4 pieces.  I would put different musical pairings together to accompany myself and we would try various songs we had all played over the years, all with no rehearsal.  We would also take requests from the audience and play those songs too. The concept evolved further when I began noticing that there would be a number of other musicians in the audience who were either friends of mine, or friends of a member of the core group for the night. I would invite these folks to play a song or two which led to some even more interesting pairings.

Word of mouth can be a powerful thing because what then began happening was that musicians I did not even know began showing up asking to play . Since this is not an open mic situation, I could not accomodate everyone and still keep continuity to my show but we have had some interesting lineups grace the stage at Paddy's.

For example, we have had rock royalty like 7 time grammy- winning percussionist Gerry Velez from Spyro Gyra and also from Jimi Hendrix's band who performed at Woodstock, join us. We have also been entertained by the Graceland endorsed #1 Elvis tribute artist in the world, Shawn Klush performing some of those classic Elvis Presley hits. And famous rock memorabilia has been used onstage at Paddy's when Ray Pappalardi, cousin of Mountain bassist Felix Pappalardi , brought Felix's original bass to play some Mountain classics with us.

What I will try to do here is present clips of a number of the performances that have taken place at Paddy's since 2009 and still continue to the present day.  Not everything and everybody was recorded , but I will try to cover as much ground as possible . All of the videos were recorded by drummer Ted McCallion and I thank him for his efforts in that regard. I also want to thank Chip and Paddy for allowing us to film at their club, and the staff at Paddy Doherty's for taking such good care of us !   Truly,  the best bar in the Bronx !!!!     Enjoy !

If any musician objects to their performance being up here, please contact me and I'll be happy to remove it , no problem.
